Close connections that are no longer being used by modifying the timeout settings.

  1. Launch FileZilla
  2. Select "Edit"
  3. Then "Settings..."
  4. Under "Timeout" change timeout in seconds to:
  5. 20
  6. Click Ok.

  1. Launch FileZilla
  2. Select "Edit"
  3. Then "Settings..."
  4. Under "Reconnection settings" change Maximum number of retries to:
  5. 2 or 4 - This will reduce the change of your IP address from getting banned from the server firewall.
  6. Again, still under "Reconnection settings" change between failed login attempts to:
  7. 15 - The higer this option is set to the better and lower risk of being banned from the server firewall.
  8. Click Ok.
